We would like to thank the athletes that took great interest in the team and came to tryouts. It was very hard to make any decisions, as alot of very high quality athletes came to tryouts and defenetly competed for the spots on the team. The coaching staff is defenetly excited for the upcoming season. For athletes who will not be returning for the rest of the season, please continue to cheer on your Carleton Ravens and we would like to wish you luck on the upcoming school year.
Past Years
Last year the Carleton Ravens Cheerleading team had a fantastic season. Placing 4th out of 9 at the University National Championships in Brampton last December. Their second competition of the year brought them to Toronto where they placed 1st and scored so high they took home a Grand Champion title as well. Leading up to these competitions the Ravens trained hard and were determined to performe a cleaner and higher scoring routine than the years previous. This was a huge accomplishment to everyone on the team because it was a rebuilding year and the team was comprised of mainly first year students who were also rookies. The team came together fantastically and was able to produce a high flying, energetic, fun to watch routine for both competitions! This past 2009 semester, the Carleton Ravens went to University Nationals and placed 4th out of 8 teams with a FANTASTIC second run to end Nationals with a bang! Congratulations Ravens!!! :)
Expectations for this year
This year the Ravens hope to improve on their last years scores snd run an even more energetic, fun to watch routine. We will be competing in the small coed division this year for the first time and even though we expect great competition, we hope to wow the crowd at both competitions that we attend. (University nationals and another competition second semester which is to be decided.) The Carleton coaches are extremely excited with the calibre of athletes they have chosen for the team and expect nothing less than their absolute best to be performed at their competitions. Keep an eye on your Carleton University Ravens to do great things this year!!!!
Upcoming Events
- Tryouts for the semester will be held January 13th at Nepean Corona School of Gymnastics at 9pm. More info can be found in the tryouts info tab, hope to see all who are interested!
- The Carleton University Ravens will be holding a Pub night at Suite 34 on Friday January 29th. Keep checking back for more information! Tickets will be available very soon! Come out and have a good time with the 2010 Carleton Cheerleaders!! :)
